Our History
Our restaurant was founded Chef Shigeru and his late wife Chizuko Fukuyoshi who shared a passion for food and a desire to bring the flavors of Japan to our community. Sagami received national acclaim when it was awarded as semifinalist for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant in 2017 and 2019 and Chef Fukuyoshi was a semifinalist for Outstanding Chef in 2023 in the James Beard Awards. Although Shigeru is now retired now, he can be seen once in a while to revisit his guest who many have become is friends.
